What we do we do in the community
We area an all volunteer Fire Company established in 1944. We serve the rural agricultural communities of Taghkanic and Gallatin in New York State's Columbia County. We also provide mutual aid services to surrounding areas. We serve you 24 hours per day, 7 days per week from two fire stations. Our main station in West Taghkanic, and a satellite station in East Taghkanic. Below is a list of services we provide to the communities we service.

Firefighting
Extinguishing structure, vehicle, brush, and wild land fires. We also respond mutual aid as needed to surrounding towns.

Rescue Services
Accident victim and vehicle extrication using tools including "Jaws of Life", search and rescue, low angle rescue.

FIrst Response/AED
Respond to Echo Level and severe distress EMS Calls, Assist Rescue Squad, lifting assistance.

Community Outreach
Assisting at special events, providing special community events, and conducting fire safety outreach.
